Words as Birds

Here you are, and here am I,
Divided by so many miles.
Across the space between us fly
A flock of words. They are not birds,
These words. At least they try.

Just stopping by to say thanks for all the comments over at Areyououtsidethelines.wordpress.com. And how cool it is to see your own poetry vis-a-vis your insightful comments. CHEERS to that!

Thanks, Chris. I like the dialogue you have started about what it means to be gay and be a poet in the 21st century.

There aren't many places where we can go for serious free-wheeling discussions like this, and you are doing a great service by hosting them.

Plus, you're a Star Trek fan. What could be cooler than that? I'll have to show you my Kobayashi Maru poem some day.
